Vocagathering main visual

Welcome to the Vocagathering BETA wrap-up post! Thank you to everyone who participated in some way, either by submitting one of the 135 original vocal synth songs or watching and sharing them! We had over 1000 unique visitors during our event, coming from 69 (nice) unique countries!

How was the event? Let us know how it went through our survey (open until the end of April 2025).

What is Vocagathering again?

For those new to this–Vocagathering is a vocal synth focused posting festival that encourages producers big and small to create and upload music during the same timeframe! The event was inspired by Vocaloid Collection (vocacolle) and aims to celebrate vocal synth creatives all across the world.

Vocagathering’s main goal is to promote the discovery of vocal synth creatives, and to build a sense of community within the global vocal synth online sphere.

Vocagathering’s first event, Vocagathering BETA, was held from April 4th 12:00AM UTC to April 7th 12:00AM UTC. The final rankings are available on our website, but make sure to check out all the songs in our official Vocagathering BETA playlist!

So what was turnout like?

Vocagathering BETA had people come together from around the globe. The greatest turnout was from English-speaking countries like the United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, and Australia, as well as Japan. However, we also had some amazing songs submitted in other languages, which we feature here:

During the runtime of the event, we had over 2,000 sessions in which people discovered new songs and had well over 1,000 posts made by community members using the #vocagatheringbeta hashtag. At one point, the hashtag even appeared in the trending tab on Twitter for some! Seeing this, we are reaffirmed and excited about continuing this event into the future.

Thanks to our volunteers

This event would not have been possible without our numerous volunteers! We want to express our profuse thanks and celebrate them by listing their role and contributed work.

Core team

khazure – Our lead developer, without him this never would have happened. From creating the code that held it together to the visual design that helped us standout, a large part of that credit goes to him.

Vivo – Holding strong design philosophies, Vivo helped us maintain a sense of visual cohesion and directly contributed to the core aesthetic we achieved on the website and in our promotional art.

Kat – As our PR, her promotion and enthusiasm allowed it to be something truly special. Thanks to their help, word of Vocagathering made it far and wide.

SumGuy – His help hosting the website and an openness to bouncing around ideas made the event possible!

Guest art team

We also had eight wonderful artworks as part of the countdown to the event’s starting date. We want to give credit and thanks to the artists below:

So what’s next for Vocagathering?

Due to the success of Vocagathering BETA, we are happy to announce that we plan to hold another posting festival! We hope to improve various aspects of the event based on feedback from the survey, including more ways to discover songs and changes to the ranking system. Please stay tuned for what we have in store!

We also have opened volunteer applications to accommodate a larger event scope. If you’re interested in joining the Vocagathering volunteer staff, come submit an application here today!

See you next time!
